Get Yourself Ready For the Stage

Learn How to Stand Out at Competitions

Get Expert Feedback on Your Routine
Many tap dancers feel overlooked at competitions & conventions. It's hard to stand out against all the contemporary, jazz and lyrical dances.
We’ve created caTAPult to help you level up your performance, wow the audience, and get the recognition you deserve.

Level Up in Classes & Workshops
Learn what type of performer you are, how to amplify your strengths, and how to stretch beyond your weaknesses. Plus, find out what each type of judge is really looking for!

Perform in Saturday Show
Learn new choreography designed to make you a better performer. Plus, perform your solo, duo, trio, etc. in the Saturday night show. Make sure your tap routine is ready for the big stage!

Get Expert Feedback
Submit a video of your routine pre-event*, perform it for a panel of experts*, and/or take a group private lesson with a tap mentor*.
What is caTAPult?
caTAPult is a 3-day event to help tap dancers level up as performers and be able to better compete against other styles of dance at competition.
This happens through a Personal Assessment, Classes, Workshops, & Performances. Plus, there are optional opportunities to go even deeper through more Personalized Training and Feedback.
Note: There is also a virtual option for those unable to travel in. More info below.

Personal Assessment
caTAPult is built on understanding who you naturally are as a performer. Right after signing up, you’ll get a link to take a Performer Assessment. On day 1 of the event, you’ll receive detailed results based on your scores. You’ll understand yourself in a new, deeper way. This sets you up to amplify your natural abilities to be even more “you” on stage.
Performance Classes
Start your learning with Master Classes for each of the 4 Performer Types. Learn the strengths & weaknesses of Trailblazers, Entertainers, Collaborators, & Technicians. Build up your existing strengths, and learn how to borrow from the other types to level up as a performer.
Feedback Showcase**
Perform your piece for a panel of judges (2 pro tap dancers & 1 non-tap pro), then get the most thorough feedback you’ve ever received. The judges take notes on your performance, then give you their honest thoughts right there on the spot. We’ll tell you exactly what you need to do to take your piece to the next level. If you’re competing a tap solo, duo/trio, or small group this year, you should absolutely sign up for this.
Saturday Show
Show off what you’ve learned for your families through new group choreography put together at the live event! All caTAPult-ers with a solo, duo/trio, or small group tap piece are invited to perform it. This fun show is like a giant dress rehearsal for competition that’s mixed with a few special guest artists.

Jennie G. says:
“There are so many great things to say about Meghan. The knowledge that she has is incredible, but it goes way beyond that. She is an incredible tap dancer, whose musicality is insane. Her feedback alone is so far beyond anyone else. She keeps things moving so you don’t feel like you are stuck repeating the same exercises over and over again. Without a doubt, you get more than you expect when working with Meghan."
What's New This Year?

New Trainings & Workshops
We're adding 4 New Workshops on Day 2! These hands-on experiences go even deeper into the 4 Types of Perfomers. Push beyond your comfort zone and learn out-of-the-box ways of thinking about music, tap dance, and storytelling. Give yourself that extra edge at competition!
Audition Workshop*
Learn what it’s like to audition for a professional dance gig. Before the event, you’ll get a casting call to know what to wear, how to prepare, and what the “job” is. During the workshop, we’ll coach you on how to be confident in presenting yourself & how to pick up the choreography quickly. Then you’ll get to experience the mock audition. You’ll get 1-on-1 feedback and receive notes on what to work on. Not only is this great pre-professional experience, it will help you to succeed in your current opportunities at convention, at your studio, and at school.
"How to Stand Out" Training*
Most of caTAPult is focused on the stage, but there’s more to a dance convention than that. Learn how to get the most out of class so you stand out and get more opportunities for scholarships, awards & other experiences. Find out what teachers are looking for and what makes them love you as a student. This virtual training happens before the event with Meghan and is recorded for you to watch later.
Learn More With the Pros
Perform with the Pros**
Learn a piece of Historical Repertoire (a classic tap dance) before the event, then rehearse and perform it at the Saturday Show alongside Meghan, Sean, and other professionals. Feel what it’s like to perform at the highest level.
Lunch Q&A with Tap Mentors**
Join us for lunch and ask us anything you want to know about dance, professional life, and advice on your own journey. We'll have fun, inspiring, and embarrassing stories ready to share with you. It’s a rare chance to sit down with us in a relaxed atmosphere and find out what you’ve been dying to know!
Judges Panel*
Learn what the judges are really looking for straight from a panel of pros. Just like there are 4 Types of Performers, there are 4 Types of Judges. Each type values different aspects of your performance over others. Hear what these judges love to see on stage and what kills your scores. Plus, ask the judges your questions to get a deeper insight on how to present yourself on stage in a competitive setting.
Get Even More!
 Pre-Event Feedback*
Send us a video of your tap solo, duo/trio, or small group before the event and get feedback from Meghan on technique, and performance quality. This gives you a head start on the event to get the most out of it.
 Group Private Lesson ++
Get personalized instruction and feedback with a small group of your peers. You’ll be matched up with a Pro Tap Mentor and 2-3 other dancers to work on specific skills based on what you’ve been working on during the event.
Who is caTAPult for?
I've judged dance competitions my entire adult life. I've scored over 50,000 pieces at this point! It's a joy to see dancers thrive on stage and tell their story through their performance.Â
There are so many times that I see a dance that's almost there. If only they would make a few small adjustments, be more dynamic or be more themselves. As a judge, I only get 2-3 minutes to give them feedback during their routine, and then it's on to the next one.
I've created caTAPult to give you the extra bit of insight and preparation you need. It's designed specifically for tap dancers, because it's so hard for you to get helpful feedback and direction.
I don't want to just make your tap piece better. I want to help you connect your performance with those who don't appreciate tap as much.
So, if you love tap dance, caTAPult is for you!
