Learn How to Stand Out at Competitions
Get Expert Feedback on Your Routine
Many tap dancers feel overlooked at competitions & conventions. It's hard to stand out against all the contemporary, jazz and lyrical dances.
We’ve created caTAPult to help you level up your performance, wow the audience, and get the recognition you deserve.
Level Up in Classes & Workshops
Boost your tap technique, learn how to tell stories through your performance, and amplify your strengths. Put it all together to wow the audience and judges!
Perform Without the Pressure
Perform in a Tap Dance Show! Learn and rehearse new group choreography. Dance with pros. Perform your competition solo, duo, or trio as part of the show. Make sure your tap routine is ready for the big stage!
Get Expert Feedback
Find out what the judges are going to think of your tap routine. Get feedback from Meghan before the event, then perform your solo/duo/trio for a panel of experts*.
What is caTAPult?
caTAPult is a 3-day event to help tap dancers level up as performers and prepare for competition season.
This happens through Classes, Workshops, a Personal Assessment, & Tap Show. Plus, go even deeper through Extra Training and Individual Feedback.
Grow As a Performer
2 Days of Master Classes
Take specialized Master Classes to build your TAP Toolbox:
Technique
Artistry
Performance
Each day of caTAPult, you will improve your technique, get better at telling stories through dance, and learn how to be more captivating on stage.
Become an excellent all-around performer by building up your existing strengths and filling in your weaker areas.
Saturday Show
Show off what you’ve learned for your family and friends through new group choreography put together at the live event!
caTAPult-ers* with a solo, duo, or trio are invited to perform it as part of the show. Feel what it's like to perform your piece for a live audience before you're being judged.
Feedback Showcase**
Perform your piece for a panel of judges (2 pro tap dancers & 1 non-tap pro), then get the most thorough feedback you’ve ever received. The judges take notes on your performance, then give you their honest thoughts right there on the spot. We’ll tell you exactly what you need to do to take your piece to the next level. If you’re competing a tap solo, duo, or trio this year, you should absolutely sign up for this.
What's New This Year?
New Classes & Tap Training
We're bringing you brand new classes on Days 1 & 2 that are all built around the TAP Toolbox framework. Push beyond your comfort zone and learn out-of-the-box ways of thinking about music, tap dance, and storytelling. Give yourself that extra edge at competition!
Plus, get access to the TAP Toolbox Video Course before the event to get a running start! This course will teach you the TAP Toolbox Framework and show you how to elevate any tap piece you are performing in.
The Tap Trials*
Push yourself to the limit and see what you're capable of in this fun, gamified experience! Go through a series of challenges that test your speed, precision, timing, and athleticism.
Walk away with new ways to boost your technique and an understanding of what it takes to be an elite tap dancer.
Challenge Yourself Even More
Perform with the Pros**
Learn an extra piece of tap choreography before the event, then rehearse and perform it at the Saturday Show alongside Meghan and other Tap Professionals. Feel what it’s like to perform at the highest level.
Think Like a Judge Workshop*
You get to be the judge in this interactive experience. First, find out what real dance judges look for at competition. Then, yousit in the judge's seat and score live tap routines. Learn how your performance is seen from the other side in a whole new way!
"Story Telling for Dancers" Training*
Learn how take control of the stage to draw in your audience, take them on a journey, and keep them engaged through your entire performance. Find out how your movements, dynamics, and facial expressions can make people feel like they're experiencing a full story when you dance.
This virtual training happens before the event with Meghan and a special guest artist. It will be recorded for you to watch later.
Tap Chat with Meghan**
Join Meghan for breakfast tacos on Day 1 of caTAPult and chat about all things tap. Hear some of her best stories from the dance world and ask her any questions you have about your own dance journey.
Get Even More!
Pre-Event Feedback Call**
Send us a video of your tap solo, duo/trio, or small group before the event, then join a call with Meghan and other dancers. Get feedback on technique, and performance quality. This gives you a head start on the event to get the most out of it.
Perform at Both Shows**
All dancers who sign up for the All-in Package have the option to perform in both Saturday Shows! Perform your tap solo/duo/trio for a live audience 2 times and be in both casts for the large group dances.
Who is caTAPult for?
I've judged dance competitions my entire adult life. I've scored over 60,000 pieces at this point! It's a joy to see dancers thrive on stage and tell their story through their performance.
There are so many times that I see a dance that's almost there. If only they would make a few small adjustments, be more dynamic or be more themselves. As a judge, I only get 2-3 minutes to give them feedback during their routine, and then it's on to the next one.
I've created caTAPult to give you the extra bit of insight and preparation you need. It's designed specifically for tap dancers, because it's so hard for you to get helpful feedback and direction.
I don't want to just make your tap piece better. I want to help you connect your performance with those who don't appreciate tap as much.
So, if you love tap dance, caTAPult is for you!

“It was a transformative experience that significantly contributed to (my daughter's) growth as a dancer and her passion for the discipline of tap itself. "My daughter had a great experience, where she grew in her tap knowledge and talent. From classroom practice, to personal critiques, she left with many take-always to help at competitions, and she felt more confident stepping out on stage. CaTAPult is an excellent opportunity to enhance your performance at auditions, as a soloist, or in a group."
